And as a result, we have a reputation as one of the leading trucking companies in the country and one of the lowest driver turnover ratios in our industry. A driver stays with Hunt Transportation an average of three times longer than with other trucking companies.
Crete Carrier values and acknowledges the years of service, professionalism, safety and productivity of our drivers with several recognition programs.
Drivers for Crete Carrier have their years of service displayed on the side door of their trucks.
Once a driver has exceeded 1 million career miles driven, and every 500,000 subsequent miles, they join the Million Mile Club. Decals are added to their truck to recognize this achievement.
Each terminal also identifies a Driver of the Month and Driver of the Year. A Company-Wide Company Driver of the Year and a Company-Wide Owner/Operator of the Year are also chosen. Those who meet specific criteria as a safe and professional driver are recognized with the American Trucking Association (ATA) Safe Driving Award.
These programs have been developed to show fellow drivers and the public that the drivers from Crete Carrier are the best in the industry.
